Crisis preparedness: Support the Programme Manager and internal Crisis Committee with preparations for Post’s crisis plan and business continuity arrangements for Expo 2020 Dubai. Create and manage an Expo-specific country business plan for the various Her Majesty’s Government (HMG) partners to capture objectives and track progress over a two-year period.Manage a project to support senior stakeholders at the British Embassies in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, identifying specific Departmental priorities and objectives for the region through Expo 2020 Dubai and the opportunities to maximise use of the platform to achieve these.Participate in relevant internal and external working groups/ projects and present at meetings/ conferences, working with the Expo Communications Officer to ensure timely communications.Maintain constructive relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to provide timely updates on project progress and engage stakeholders in opportunities for collaboration at the UK Pavilion.Contributing to the local project closure and evaluation and lessons learned summary.Carrying out associated administrative duties where necessary.Contributing to Corporate Services support for the project by offering resilience during peak moments.Ensure the right learning tools are developed to meet the needs of the stakeholders, drawing on all relevant resources, internal and external Developing and coordinating an Expo 2020 Learning & Development programme, assisting with delivery of the strategy under the guidance of the Programme Manager.Providing project updates and reports via Excel and any other tracking systems as required to senior management each month.Project support: The jobholder will be expected to undertake a wide variety of tasks, including assisting with planning the delivery of current and new projects, organising meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, updating critical project documentation, and linking Post’s project development with the wider UK at Expo 2020 project plan. The jobholder will need to be a self-starter with passion and motivation to make this project a success alongside the growing team. Being flexible, adaptable, and able to balance conflicting priorities is essential as we rapidly evolve from planning to delivery from the one year to go mark. Communication and interpersonal skills will be critical when working with the wide-range of stakeholders involved in the project and the jobholder should thrive when working in a multi-functional busy team with many roles. The position requires excellent project support and organisational skills to drive forward the next phase of Post’s strategy. The main purpose of this role will be to support the next phase of the Embassy’s delivery for Expo 2020, ensuring the Embassy is fully prepared in all aspects of planning and delivery for an ‘all of Post’ effort in support of the UK’s presence at Expo 2020 Dubai. UK participation will consist of a self-build country pavilion with an accompanying business and cultural programme to promote the UK as an excellent destination for business, education, and tourism. The UK’s participation theme for Expo 2020 Dubai is Global Britain – Innovating for a Shared Future, led by DIT. With sub-themes of Opportunity, Mobility, and Sustainability (reflected in the three thematic zones of the Expo), Expo 2020 Dubai aims to encourage international partnerships to deliver sustainable solutions to global problems.
